This notice explains what ControlRoam Input Hub processes, where local preferences are stored, how optional companion connections work, and how to remove local Controller Finder data or request deletion of information held by FlyingForFun.
This Privacy Policy covers ControlRoam Input Hub (Android package com.controlroam.questreceiver), a free Meta Quest application provided by FlyingForFun. It describes the Quest application, not the separately licensed ControlRoam PC product or general browsing of the FlyingForFun website.
Direct Gamepad can be used without ControlRoam PC or ESP32-S3 hardware. Optional companion features can communicate with compatible ControlRoam ESP32-S3 hardware over local Wi-Fi or Bluetooth-based companion paths.
To operate its features, the app may process the following information on your headset:
This processing supports controller selection, live input monitoring, calibration, profile recovery, Controller Finder and optional companion communication. Live input readings are used for current app operation and testing rather than as a user activity history.
The app stores selected settings, profiles, calibration, active-device choices and certain Controller Finder preferences in application-local storage on the Quest device so the configuration can be restored later.
Direct Gamepad does not require a FlyingForFun cloud account. When an optional companion mode is enabled, the app communicates with compatible devices on the local network or through the supported Bluetooth companion path as needed to carry controller input and connection state.
Controller Finder can save a spatial anchor for the currently active controller. The app stores the anchor identifier locally so the saved location can be restored. Spatial-anchor storage and tracking are provided through Meta Quest platform capabilities.
To remove a saved Controller Finder location, use the in-app Clear Location action for that controller. The app then requests erasure of the corresponding spatial anchor and removes its locally stored anchor reference. Uninstalling the app removes app-local data subject to Meta's own backup/restore behavior, but using Clear Location is the explicit in-app path for deleting a saved Finder anchor.
Meta Quest provides VR tracking and mixed-reality/passthrough capabilities through Horizon OS and Meta/Unity SDKs. ControlRoam Input Hub uses supported spatial information to position its interface and Controller Finder features.
The app does not expose a ControlRoam feature for sending a user-recorded passthrough video or headset-camera photo to FlyingForFun. Meta may independently process device and platform information under its own privacy notices; those platform practices are controlled by Meta, not FlyingForFun.
ControlRoam Input Hub does not require a FlyingForFun login, ControlRoam PC license or in-app payment for Direct Gamepad. If you voluntarily contact FlyingForFun for support or a privacy request, FlyingForFun receives the information you choose to send, such as your email address and the details of your request, in order to respond.
The app includes a LEARN MORE & SETUP action that opens the FlyingForFun website in the system browser. Website browsing is separate from using the Quest app and is covered by the website's own privacy notice and normal web infrastructure.
Meta Horizon OS, app distribution, spatial-anchor services and connected controller or companion hardware may also be subject to the relevant providers' terms and privacy practices.
Locally saved profiles, calibration, device selections and app preferences generally remain in the app's local storage until changed, reset or removed, or until the app is uninstalled, subject to Meta's separate backup/restore behavior. Controller Finder locations can be removed with the in-app Clear Location action described above.
Removing the Quest app does not automatically reset settings that may be stored separately on optional companion hardware.
If you want to request access, correction or deletion of information FlyingForFun may hold from support correspondence or another direct contact, email flightsimalbeagle@gmail.com with the subject “ControlRoam Input Hub — Privacy Request”. Do not include passwords or payment card numbers.
Use of ControlRoam Input Hub is subject to Meta Horizon account, headset and Store eligibility requirements and to the age classification shown by Meta for the application in the user's region. ControlRoam Input Hub does not ask users to submit a date of birth or create a FlyingForFun account to use Direct Gamepad.
If you believe personal information was provided directly to FlyingForFun about a child inappropriately, contact the privacy email below.
FlyingForFun aims to minimize the information processed by the app and to use application-local storage and device-supported connection mechanisms. Users should secure their headset, Bluetooth pairing and local Wi-Fi network. No electronic system is completely free from security risk.
If app features or data practices materially change, this page and its “Last updated” date will be revised to reflect those changes.
